Dear Cherished Reader,

The opening event of my solo show Evanescent at Tóparti Galéria was a sublime summer’s evening with Lake Balaton glistening nearby. I would like to thank all who attended and I hope you enjoyed viewing the evolution of my painting so far.

It’s very refreshing and rewarding for me to meet new people, hear their stories and what they see and feel from my work. The unique insights and observations are so valuable and interesting.

The event kicked off with an evoking set of violin music played by Zoltán Lantos. He used looped backing melodies and beats which gave a brilliant base for his incredible violin notes to soar and dance upon. I feel safe in saying that I think everyone was moved by and in awe of his performance.

Zoltán himself is incredibly humble and open, which I respect and I believe it is this continual questioning and pursuit of creativity that makes him such a talented musician. I feel very lucky to have him play at my opening evening. Köszönöm szépen Zoltán!

My good friend Attila Horváth had the great kindness to make an opening speech in Hungarian.

It was a very observant and personal insight by him into how he has watched my work change and develop since I first arrived in Hungary, began my painting in oils and about our friendship. Attila has an infectious optimism and energy for the arts and life in general, a top dude. Köszönöm szépen Attila!

And thus my exhibition was open! For the next two hours we all moved into the Gallery to view my paintings and meet one another.

István Horkay, the great graphic design artist and his partner Enikó were kind enough to attend!

This exhibition shows my landscape and figurative works’ beginnings of flowing moving forms to the recent expressive combinations of tone, texture and colour. I hope it makes for an enjoyable artistic experience for everyone who visits.

It’s undoubtedly tough times for us artists. So I have lots of gratitude for this opportunity given to me by Tóparti Galéria and the curators, to those who helped me so much behind the scenes, and of course those who came to support and view my art.

The exhibition runs everyday 16:00 - 22:00 until 9th July!
